Powder for non-matte lovers!

Image
I don't know if I'm the only one but because I'm not matte I find it really hard to find powder's that are too thick and make me look flat. However I found the new (ish) H&M perfectionist finishing powder is really fine so perfect for just setting your make-up in place. I use the real techniques duo-fibre face brush which is really flexible so you won't pick up to much product on it.  After reading a lot of reviews about this range there is one thing in common and that is that the packaging is really cheap and flimsy. Yes this is is true but if you can see past that the actual product is really good.

Boots haul

Image
The other day I made a boots order online as I wanted to try some of the NYX range and none of the stores near me stock it. As it arrived today I thought that I would give my first impressions, I haven't tried any of this so I will do separate reviews after I have. Going from left to right and I will include prices;  17 Miracle matte primer this is usually £4.99 but as I spent so much on 17 I got this free L'oreal paris infallible fixing mist usually £7.99 but l'oreal was on 3 for 2 so this was free  L'oreal false lash sculpt mascara £9.99  Seventeen easy on the eye palette £7.99 NYX baked eyeshadow in  Shira and sugar babe £5.00 each L'oreal Infallible sculpt contouring base £8.99

April favourites

So another month has gone by and it's time to look back on what I have been enjoying this month in the words of beauty. There is a few more product's this month than last as I'm back to normal self and my epilepsy has now settle down YAY!! Starting of with the face I have two product's that I am continuing to reach for on a daily basis. The first is the Soap and Glory multi colour blush in apricot blush. I love this but it's a highlighter and blush in one and a perfect spring/summer shade.  My next one is the L'oreal true match which I have gone back to. I love this foundation because it has good coverage but still looks natural on the skin. This foundation has a wide range of colours and tones so there is something for everybody.  I have the shade 1.c rose ivory which is great if you're like me and have very pale skin.  My last product for make-up is the Stila eyes are the window soul palette. I've done a full review

My favourite low coverage foundations

Image
I don't know about you but there are some days when I can either can't be bothered to apply a full coverage foundation or just want to give my skin a break. So that's when my low cover foundation's come in.  The collection colour match foundation in porcelain is such a natural foundation for me and just helps to even everything out. It does have some coverage but not a lot so it's perfect for when your skin is having a good skin day.  Topshop BB cream with SPF 20 is a great option for summer, I don't know about you but I don't like wearing really heavy foundations in summer as my skin is normally clearer in the warmer months.  My last one is in the maybelline fit me foundations in the shade 115 this is probably the heaviest of the 3 but it's still so light. The just blends into the skin and looks like your wearing nothing I love it.  Leave your comments down below what your favourite low coverage foundations is!

Really quick and easy make-up

Image
There are those occasions when I have a limited amount of time to get ready in the morning. That's when I tend to pull from a pool of product's that I know can be applied quickly. If I'm in a real hurry then I will not wear foundation and only apply concealer to the areas that I need it. This is generally under the eyes, around the nose and any spots which are generally on my skin. The one that I'm using at the moment is the collection lasting perfection concealer which I've spoke about so many times.  I will generally apply a blusher along my cheeks to give life to my face. The one that I'm at the moment is the max factor creme puff blush in lavish mauve. This just gives a subtle amount of colour and a sheen.  I will also apply a little bit of mascara which at the moment is the revlon all in one mascara as it's so easy to apply and I tend to not smudge this one.  Finally if I have time I will apply a little bit of gloss or b

Rimmel sculpting palette

Image
Rimmel have recently launched a sculpting palette from their kate moss line. This comes in two shades; one with a cooler shade of contour for paler skin and one with a darker shade for deeper skin tones. The highlighter has quite a lot of shimmer in it and does give a definite sheen to cheeks. The contour also a glitter in it which personally I don't like as I prefer a matte contour. The blush is a is in between a coral and a peach blush which is great for summer. The only thing that this palette is missing is a mirror but apart that I really like this palette.

A quick fix for brushes

Image
We all know that it's important to clean our brushes every so often as bacteria can build up on them and then you are therefore putting this on your face. However I don't know about you but I've found that cleaning brushes properly isn't a quick an easy thing to do especially if you've got a large brush collection. The freedom pro-studio brush shower helps keep brushes clean and it does it within seconds. These works as a spot cleaning step for your brushes so it's not going to remove everything, however if you're in a hurry and your brushes are very dirty from using products then this can be used in this way.

My updated skincare routine

Image
So starting of with products that I only use in the morning. To cleanse my face my I have just starting to use the Boot Botantics all bright gentle cleansing cream. This is a more a milky texture than I'm use to. As I use in the morning I don't want anything to heavy as I don't have any make-up on.   For moisturising again I like to use a lighter moisturiser in the morning that feels comfortable under make-up. This is the Neutrogena visible clear pink grapefruit oil free moisture. I have the facial wash of this many times and I absolutely love the smell. This is really nice moisturiser and feels very hydrating.  For removing my make-up at the moment I'm not using my Liz Earle cleanse and polish. Instead I'm the superdrug vitamin E hot cloth cleanser. I have done a comparison between these two cleansers.  http://livinglifewithbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/battle-of-brandsproducts-hot-cloth.html  I've nearly finished this but at th

What's in my travel bag

Image
This weekend I am actually going away to wales so I'd thought I would run what I will be taking with me. Also please leave a comment below if you think that I have forgotten anything.  My bag itself is from boots and it came in a set of three, this is the medium size. I really like this bag as I can see everything I have in it. Reading some reviews I'm not sure if these are airline approved as I haven't taken them abroad, so if you are purchasing them for that reason then I would take a spare plastic bag just in case.  The first thing I have in it is my mini bottle of the Garnier Micellar cleansing water. This is so convient for travel because it means you take your make-up off with something fairly decent but also doesn't take up too much room. I also have a small pack of cotton round to go with it. Back in  January I picked up a travel kit from balance me. Within it in contained; cleanse

Stila Eyes Are The Window eyeshadow palette

Image
If you saw my what's in make-up bag post then you'll know that I have been using the Stila eyes are the window eyeshadow palette. I picked this Up about a month ago and wanted to do give it a good run before I reviewed it.  This palette is fairly neutral but it does have mixture of matte's and shimmers, which means that you go from fairly neutral eye look all the way through to a heavy smoky eye. There is also a large mirror inside the lid which means it's perfect for travel. Going from left to right the shades are; Light, Individual, being, kitten, affection, character Thought, heart, peace, vitality, substance and essence. The pigmentation of the shadows is very good and they are really easy to blend together. The shimmers don't have a lot of fall out and also stay on your lids.  I purchased this from beauty bay but at the moment is sold out. However doing some research I have found that it's available from the Selfridges

what's in my travel make-up bag

Image
So this weekend Im am heading off with some friends to wales to go walking in the woods and generally just chilling out. I thought That I would go through what making I am taking with me, I'm not taking that as much we are just chilling all weekend and not really going out anywhere in the evening. The bag I am taking is the zoella beauty bag which is the perfect size for just a couple of days. For brushes I am taking 3 as I feel that I can double them up and use them for different products. So for base I'm taking the real techniques expert face brush, for blush/ contour I am taking the duo fibre contour and for eye shadow I am taking the base shadow brush which I can use to lay down colour and blend out shadow as well. For base I am actually taking two product's that I don't really use that often so this will be a good opportunity to give them a good. For foundation I'm taking the collection colour match foundation in porcelain and for concealer I am

John Freida Salt spray

Image
If you saw my haul blog post the other day then You'll know that I picked up quite a few hair products. One of them being them being the John Fredia sea salt texturising spray. It's the time ofyear where we start thinking about summer. Normally in the summer I want to create the beachy wavy hair look. You can use this both on dry and wet hair so great if you want to take this on holiday or if you just want summer to come quicker!!

New look pure colour foundation vs bare minerals complexion rescue

Image
I've recently discovered that two of my foundations are very similar and there is also a bit of price difference between the two.  I got the bare minerals complexion rescue last summer as I felt I needed something that still gave me good coverage but has a good SPF. This foundation has an SPF of 30 which is fairly high. This is very different to all of the other foundations I own as it contains the benefit's of a BB, CC and a tinted moisture. It has good coverage and I will definitely wear this as a foundation but it doesn't get to dry or tight.  I've also found that the pure colour liquid foundation from new look is very similar. This is an actual foundation but I've found that it's very moisturising and feels quite light on the skin. Similarly to the Bareminerals one it has has good coverage and it will lasts all day. However it does contain vitamin E which is really good for your skin. The only thing that it doesn't have is an SPF which

L'oreal Elvive Fibrology leave in conditoner

I have been using this line for ages and you know that I really love there shampoo and conditioner. So if you saw my haul blog post the other day (if not go check it out) then you'll know that I pick up this product to give a go.  I have been using this for 5 days now both on wet and dry hair to give it a good test and I have say that it definitely my hair feel thicker and also gave it a bit of shine. It does give me shine but not to much that my hair looks greasy. I also like that this is definitely a mist instead of a spray so if you're using this on dry hair it's not to much. It also helps to detangle hair as because I have quite thick hair really helps to get a brush through.  I would definitely give this product a go and in fact the whole line if you haven't tried it already. Obviously it's not going to make your hair thicker overnight if you struggle with that problem but over time you may start seeing as I certainly have.

Freedom pro palette in secret rose

Image
I picked this the other day whilst shopping in superdrug. I am really starting to like this brand as they look very professional and all the product's that I have tried are of a good quality but they are so affordable. This is there pro palette in the shade secret rose. This palette consists of 12 very neutral shades but they have a mixture of finishes. Normally within a palette there are one or two shades that I wouldn't wear. However in this palette there isn't those shades. The actual shadows are very soft but highly pigmented, they are also really easily blendable. You can get freedom from some superdrug stores and also online. This palette is £4.00 which is amazing value for what you get. I may do a comparison between this and the make revolution palettes as they are of a similar pricing.
