Mascara the good, the bad and the downright awful!!

Image
Mascara the good the bad and the down right awful  I find mascara a very personal and I think because everybody has different needs one mascara might work for me and it might not work for you. So I was a bit nervous about doing this because it's very opinionated. So without further ado I will right into it but I just wanted to mention it before I started.  So I was quite lucky with my lashes because I have quite long lashes. So my first one and probably my favourite at the moment is the Maybelline lash sensational lash multiplying mascara in waterproof. Now I saw this on Miss Budget Beauty video of her favourite mascara and was just amazed by it. The wand is curved and is a rubber bristles which is personally my favourite because it really get into my lashes and really lengthens them. The product currently retails for £7.99 in boots and is also on a 3 for 2. My next one is the Superlash by Seventeen and by the way when did they changed the numbers to letters. B

Topshop BB cream

Image
topshop bb cream So last week I did a blog post about drugstore/highstreet clothing shop makeup brands. One of the products I featured was a BB cream from topshop. The actual BB cream has quite a light coverage so it's perfect for everyday. However you can build this look up to be a light/medium coverage. I would recommend using this with the collection lasting perfection concealer which I know is talk about to death on blogs and youtube but it's so good!! The one thing I love about a BB is it's so quick and easy to apply looks so natural as long as you get the right shade. Also a bonus is that this product contains an SPF of 20 which is really good if you in a hurry because you're protected and have coverage too. the only downer about this product is the packaging. First of the mirrored effect looks good but its not practical because I use my fingers to apply this and when you trying to do up the lid it gets mucky and just doesn't look nice. However ov

collection eyes uncovered palette

natural collection eyes uncovered neutral palette  Recently I have been making a couple of purchases in boots. One of them being the natural collection eyes uncovered palette. The actual palette is really good because it's quite compact and amazing for travel. The actual palette I find is very similar to the Urban Decay naked basics palette but for the fraction of the price. The palette comes in three colours which are nude, bronze and grey I have the bronze one and it's so pigmented. What I love about this palette is that you can use all the colours to create a smoky look for an evening event or you can just use a couple of colour to create more or a daytime look. The palette retails £3.99 which considering the urban decay one is £23.00 you are getting your money's worth. One of the things I love is the shadow are actually named i know it sounds a funny thing but I've found that the more cheaper brands don't generally name their eyeshadows which is useful whe

What's in my travel makeup bag?

Image
What's in my travel toiletries bag So as some of you may know if you read my last post I have had a long weekend away with my family in Wales this weekend which was so much fun. The bag itself comes from boots and the come in a set of three this is actually the medium size which is the perfect size for a long weekend away. So following that I thought I would share what I packed in my travel toiletries bag. I haven't taken much in the way of makeup because I wanted  skin to breath. So all I took for my base was the maybelline fit me concealer which is an average concealer for both blemishes and under the eyes. I also took a gosh quad which I have had for quite some time and to go with that I took a ELF eyeshadow brush which is a good all rounder. I took for my lips a maybelline lipstick and a niviea pearl effect lip balm which I did end up using. I also packed a cover girl lash blast length mascara  which I picked up from tk maxx. I also packed a Nivea lip balm in

No Makeup Weekend

So I have had a long weekend away with my family and friends and you know what has been so nice Is not wearing makeup. I know this is a beauty blog and I really do have a passion for makeup but I just love it when I can get up in the morning and not have to worry or care what makeup I'm wearing that day. Let me know if you feel the same.

high street clothes stores makeup

high street makeup!! Recently I have noticed that a lot of clothes stores are now bringing out makeup lines. The main one that most people know is topshop. So I went in there the other day to see what kind of products they do and I was really surprised. The stand looks really proffessional and they have a wide range of products to choose from. You can definitely create a whole face of makeup from the collection.  I just picked up one product because I didn't want to buy to much as I wasn't sure of the quality of the collection. I picked up the BB cream which I'd have to say the product has really good coverage and lasting power. The colour I got is light-medium which is a really good match for me as I am very pale. However when I first put this on I wasn't sure as it look to dark for me but after working it in to my skin it look really nice. the products does feel quite wet to the skin at first but it does set and feel comfortable. I really want to try mo

nyx butter glosses

Image
nyx butter glosses  I have been trying different products from different brands at the moment and one of those brands has been NYX. Now I hear some many people talk about NYX so I thought I'd give it a go. the butterglosses really appealed to me because they have do have some pigmentation but they are very butter and quite comfortable on the lips. This is the sweet temptations set and it comes with three colours. The first one is apple strudel and this one is very peachy and with a hint of light pink. These are quite sheer but do have colour so you can wear them on there own.  The next one is Eclair which a purple/pink colour. This is my favourite out of the set because it's a very neutral colour and can be worn every day.  The last colour from the set is cherry pie which looks in the tube quite a deep red however because of the formulation it can be quite sheer however it can be built up if you prefer a more bold lip.  So these ar
